One of Geo Ausden’s longest-running services is metal recycling. It’s certainly one of our more diverse services, with our team able to process a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals using equipment such as shearing guillotines and baler shears.
If you have metal products that you’re interested in recycling rather than leaving to rust and take up valuable space, we’ll gladly take them off your hands. We’ll be happy to answer any questions on how our recycling service works. Once you see how easy it is, you can arrange a convenient time to come and visit our workshop.
Please note that there are some criteria that we meet when recycling any metal products, so please see below to learn more about how we use any scrap metal we receive.
What We Do with Scrap Metal
Any scrap metal you bring to Geo Ausden to be recycled will first be weighed using regularly tested machinery to ensure accurate readings. Once our team has confirmed that we can accept the scrap and have weighed the item(s), we’ll be able to provide you with a price on the day. Please note that any prices we provide in quotes or discussions before this point can differ depending on the changing condition of your metal and relevant industry prices.
If you’re happy with the price we offer and hand over the metal to recycle, the Geo Ausden team will process your payment details. The payment options that we accept include BACS and account payments, with the funds often being made available to you as soon as the same day.
If you’re looking to dispose of a large quantity of scrap metal and may struggle to visit our facility, Geo Ausden also offers a local skip collection service. If you think this may be needed for your items, please contact us so that we can confirm the specification of your request and recommend the best way to proceed.
The Items That We Recycle (and Those We Don’t)
Geo Ausden is typically able to accept the following items for metal recycling:
- Copper
- Brass
- Lead
- Aluminium
- Stainless steel
- Household and industrial cabling
- Iron and steel
- White goods (dishwashers, washing machines and dryers)
Unfortunately, Geo Ausden isn’t able to accept the following items:
- Cars
- Fridge freezers
- Sealed containers such as gas bottles
- Objects filled with oil and fuel (you must drain this before we can accept the goods)
